Review sites don't give justice to the reviewed. If there's a problem, both parties should communicate to resolve the issue instead of figure pointing.
With that said, we're working on a site to allow both small business owners and customers to engage one another and build community. Think of it as an online suggestion box for customers to leave comments and small business owners to reply back.

So long as the review is expressed as an "opinion" and is not malicious or defamatory then there is hopefully little or no chance of litigation succeeding.
Regrettably we will all have to learn to sign off posts on forums, blogs or wherever with a long-winded legal disclaimer - "the statements expressed herein are made entirely without prejudice ... etc etc.
This issue highlights the impact that 3 decades or over-litigious and unbalanced laws have had. It has closed factories, destroyed communities and made everyone fearful of speech, labor and movement. Where once it was factories now it is the internet which is the new target of today’s lawyers. Whatever you publish on the net – be cautious – because as soon as make over a $1000 you can guarantee there will be a legal vulture ready to pounce and steal half of it from you.

cool article. i'm a big yelper and have come across similar experiences. makes senses for brands to commit to customer service at the location and on the web if they put themselves out there.
